In 2022, the established Anna United Methodist Church in Anna, Texas, decided to become a Legacy church, leaving its resources (financial and physical) for a new church that would focus on community service and reach new people in the area. The Gathering United Methodist Church is the new church, and we are forever grateful for the saints who came before, planting seeds of faith in people for over 100 years.

As we read in Acts 2:46, small groups are the earliest form of Christian churches, much like our community at the Anna Texas church. Our model of church closely resembles this, as we offer multiple opportunities each week for families to gather, including some on Sundays and during the week. Additionally, we hold acoustic worship a few times a year, further enhancing our connection through community service and worship at Legacy Church.

Beginning August 23rd, we will have weekly worship at 10:15am on Sunday mornings.

At our Anna Texas church, we strive to embody the teachings of Jesus from John 13:34-35 by loving our neighbors. To truly love our neighbors, we believe it's essential to get to know them, which is why you’ll often see us at community events! 

Community service is a core value for us, and we actively partner with various non-profits that provide essential services such as feeding, clothing, and housing people in need. 

One of our proud partnerships is with Joe K. Bryant Elementary in Anna ISD. You’ll find us engaging as mystery readers, serving as lunchroom monitors, and supporting the staff with lunch and snacks, all part of our commitment to serving our community through Legacy Church.
